There is a direct correlation between post-traumatic stress disorder and not sleeping. This means that poor quality sleep can trigger additional stress + nightmares.
To combat this sleep-defeating cycle, turn to deep sleep, or non-dreaming sleep. It occurs during the first half of the night and is brought on by a decrease in body temperature.
